Before the days of the grandfathers, there was nothing but water except a single reef where the supernatural beings lived crowded together. Raven flew about looking for a place to land but could alight nowhere. He flew up to the Sky Land, where he tricked a chief's family by taking the form of a baby. He caused mischief until a stone woman exposed him. The chief sang a magic song and Raven was dropped, falling onto the great waters in his cradle.
