The Girl Who Married a Star
A Crow girl gazed at the sky and wished to marry the Morning Star. Her wish was granted, and she was taken to the sky world where she became the wife of a star. She was happy but was told never to dig up a certain root. Lonely for her family, she eventually disobeyed and pulled the root, revealing a hole through which she could see her earthly home far below. Overcome with longing, she wove a rope to descend, but it was too short. She fell to Earth and survived, finding her way back to her people. The star husband, heartbroken, can still be seen in the morning sky.
