A lame Arapaho warrior, unable to fight alongside his people, was left behind when the village moved. As he sat alone, a skeleton approached him. The skeleton offered to carry the warrior to battle if the warrior would promise to give the skeleton a proper burial afterward. They formed a pact. The skeleton carried the warrior into battle against their enemies, and the warrior's arrows struck true. They won a great victory.
