In this Nuxalk myth, the daughter of the Sun married a human man known as Salmon Boy. The Sun was not pleased with his daughter's choice and subjected his new son-in-law to a series of deadly tests. The Sun took Salmon Boy to a mountain of unparalleled steepness where mountain goats climbed, commanding him to kill one. Salmon Boy succeeded with the help of his wife. Next, the Sun required him to draw water from a spring whose walls closed in on anyone who approached. Again his wife helped him.
