The Trolls of the Lava Fields
The vast lava fields of the south are said to be the remains of trolls who were caught by the dawn. These creatures spent their nights carving the land and building fortresses, but the first light of the sun turned their skin to basalt, leaving them as permanent, frozen monuments in the stone.
