The Wonderful Horns of the Orphan Boy
A Xhosa boy whose mother had died was mistreated by his stepmothers and decided to leave home, riding on his father's ox. The ox fought and defeated a fierce bull from a passing herd. Later the ox told the boy it would die fighting another bull and instructed him to break off its horns. After the ox's death, the boy discovered that striking the right horn produced food and drink, while the left horn could store it. A greedy man tried to steal the horns but failed.
