Tippafossur and the Killing of Jógvan
A grim legend within the Ormur cycle. Jógvan, a farmer from Oyri, caught Ormur of Skála stealing his sheep and attacked him. Miraculously, Jógvan overpowered the huge Ormur and held him down, calling for his son to bring a knife. But the son, terrified of Ormur, fled and hid at the Tippafossur gorge. Ormur, pinned and fearing death, promised the devil a piece of his little finger in exchange for strength. Suddenly gaining supernatural power, Ormur broke free and killed Jógvan.
