Tsichtinako Teaches the Sisters
In the Acoma Pueblo creation story, Tsichtinako (Thought Woman) appeared as a voice guiding the sisters Iatiku and Nautsiti from within the earth. She couldn't be seen because she was a spirit without a human body. Tsichtinako instructed the sisters in all aspects of life: how to plant seeds from their baskets, how to make prayer sticks (pahos), how to conduct ceremonies, and how to organize their society into clans.
