Uksáhkká: Guardian of the Door
Uksáhkká (Door Woman) is one of the daughters of Máttaráhkká, living under the door of the goahti. She protects people entering and leaving the dwelling, receives the newborn child into the world during birth, and protects children as they learn to walk. Drinks were poured under the door as offerings. Christian influence equated her with Virgin Mary. She was known only among Scandinavian Sámi.
